We welcome students of all levels – from absolute beginners to advanced players – including children, teens, and adults. Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your skills, personalized lessons are tailored to meet your musical goals.

Currently offering cello lessons at all levels, and violin lessons for beginners, including help with violin sheet music and basic technique.

Imjeong Choi

Born in South Korea, Imjeong Choi began her musical journey by earning awards as a soloist from the Baroque Concours and Music Education News Concours. She delved into her musical explorations through both orchestra concerts and chamber concerts, showing her versatility and passion.

Her journey gained further when she participated in the University Orchestra Festival Concert with the Hanyang University Orchestra at the Seoul Arts Center. Imjeong stood out by performing a solo recital with the Hanyang String Orchestra at the Backnam recital hall, where she also appeared as a soloist. Her talent as a group was recognized when she won First prize in the Hanyang Chamber Music Competition, leading to a chamber music performance at Backnam Recital Hall.

Imjeong earned a Bachelor of Music Performance from Hanyang University and a second degree in Music Education, which granted her a Secondary School Teacher of Music certificate.
During this time, she was a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Youth Orchestra and served as a substitute for the Jeonju City Symphony Orchestra and the Mostly Philharmonic Orchestra. She also expanded her teaching methods and taught cello at Boseong Girls’ Middle School and interned as a music teacher at Muhak Middle School.

Continuing her education in the United States, Imjeong achieved both a Doctor of Musical Arts and a Master of Music in Cello Performance at Michigan State University, where she studied with Suren Bagratuni.
During this period, she worked at the Ohio Light Opera in 2019, and she participated in the Summer Study Abroad program in Todi, Italy, where she performed in 2018.

As an active orchestra musician, Imjeong toured Hong Kong, China,the Philippines, Taiwan, and Japan as a member of the Asian Youth Orchestra. In Michigan, she was a member of the Lansing Symphony, Jackson Symphony, and Midland Symphony orchestras. Additionally, she was selected as an Associate member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra for the 2021/2022.

In 2025, Imjeong was a prize winner of the New York Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, which led to a trio performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City-a highlight of her chamber music career 

Imjeong Choi is now an Assistant Principal at the Waco Symphony Orchestra and teaches at Perry Middle School as a private instructor. She is excited to be in Texas, where she continues to pursue her musical career and teaching endeavors.
